The etymology of the name ISTAMAX derives from the Greek verb “Hìstame” (ἵσταμαι) which means “I stand, I am stable”.

ISTAMAX is the first technical running brand specialized in footwear for kids. The Italian brand was born from the need to offer children and teenagers a shoe with anti-pronation technology that can combine high technical content with aesthetics and design.

ISTAMAX footwear is designed and manufactured with technologies suitable for controlling overpronation, based on specific technical features requested by medical specialists and fine-tuned by running experts.
MidsoleMade of double-density phylon with a stiffer internal medial part, in order to reduce stress on the ankle and the inward inclination of the foot, while ensuring adequate cushioning and support.
Anti-torsionThe thermoplastic insert integrated into the midsole helps prevent the foot from over-twisting.
ShellThe back of the shoe that wraps around the heel is made of a rigid padded material to stabilize and protect the ankle.
ForefootThe grooves in the midsole promote better forefoot flexion.
10 millimeters dropThe difference in height between the back (heel) and the front (toe) of the shoe helps reduce stress on the Achilles tendon and decrease the load on the calf muscles.
TreadThe part of the shoe in direct contact with the ground is made of anti-abrasion rubber for greater grip and traction.
InsoleRemovable and built with arch support for added comfort.
UpperBreathable mesh base for Spring/Summer season and water repellent ripstop nylon for Autumn/Winter season. The heat sealed in technical material improves the durability of the shoe, as well as identifying the typical aesthetics of the brand.
